From the Block,
For the Block.

"We started Block Brew 'cause we were tired of the same old pint."

We're Block Brew — born in East London, built on good mates, better beer, and proper graft. We back community, creativity, and keeping things real. Every can we crack, every event we throw — it's all about good vibes, loud laughs, and reppin' where we're from.

Three friends. Friends since they were eleven years old. Regularly letting go of daily stresses over a crisp, cold pint down the boozer — the way it's always been done on the Island.

Isle of Dogs.
Our Home.

The Isle of Dogs has always had a decorated history — its ten-day sovereignty of independence during the '70s, its colourful dance of multiculturalism born from the docks, its plethora of pubs. The Island has always been a magnet for hard workers, identity, independence, and a jolly.

A place where people looked out for one another — whether it be down the youth club, the basketball court, or the pub. From dodging noise complaints to throwing BBQs on the balcony, that block raised us. Now we're repping it proper, one brew at a time.

The Story.

Block Brew — The Block's Story Isle of Dogs

Three pillars.
One purpose.

01

Fresh Flavours

We were tired of the same old pint. Reef House Lager is brewed with heart, built for a sesh — honest brewing that gives our people something to be proud of.

02

Community First

The pub was always more than a pub. It was where the Island breathed. We exist to put the emphasis back on the communities those pubs stand for.

03

Proper Representation

Britain's first Black-owned beer company — born, bred, and brewed in East London. We hold immense pride in where we're from and what we've wrestled for.

Where the
name comes from.

Reef House Lager was born from the same blocks the boys lived, grew up in, and drank in as curious youth. The plot thickens: it's the same block they were photographed in by cult British photographer Simon Wheatley — twenty years back — and to which they've now returned to express their joy of community and urge it to live on.

The final piece of the puzzle? Popular artist Reuben Dangoor hand-painted Simon's photos of the Block Brew lads, birthing the artwork for Reef House Lager — the tool they needed to represent where they're from, what they love about pubs up and down the country, and the communities those pubs stand for.

Thus, Reef House Lager — born & bred in London — has arrived.

The Story.

"Where the pubs raised us, and the blocks kept us honest."

Three friends. One block. A mission to brew something worth raising a glass to. This is the story of how Block Brew came to life — from the streets of the Isle of Dogs, the back rooms of Reef House, and the years of graft that got us here.

Watch how a pint between mates became the UK's first Black owned beer brand.
